Want to make it big online?

Whether you are an aspiring online entrepreneur, just starting out, or busy building your online empire, there are websites that contain free and relevant information to help you with all aspects of online entrepreneurship including starting, running and growing an online business. Here’s my pick of the litter.

1. Tech Husband

Just when you were convinced that you’d be at YouTube University forever, in waltzes Forest Lidden aka the Tech Husband. This handy site features comprehensive, useful advice on software and technology for online businesses. Content is tailored for the busy woman online entrepreneur and is delivered in an oh so smooth way. One visit to the site and you’re easily convinced Forest “gets” exactly where you’re at. Technology frustrations, be gone!

2. Copyblogger

The Godfather of content marketing tools, tips, and training for online marketers and entrepreneurs, Copyblogger receives enough traffic to rank in the top 1% of blogs in terms of traffic. Once you’re on the site it’s difficult to leave because every post (and headline) is full of useful advice, strategies and solutions for online that work. Of particular note is their free How to write magnetic headlines series. It’s the bomb.

3. Design Sponge Biz Ladies

Founded in 2006 in order to connect local women running their own art and design-based businesses, this quality interview series has become a must read for many lady solopreneurs. Classy and high value, the Q &A style posts are both interesting and helpful to anyone starting or growing their online business.


4. Amy Porterfield

Co-author of Facebook Marketing All-In-One for Dummies and a social media strategist, Amy Porterfield’s blog is full of high value training on Facebook and Social Media Strategies for entrepreneurs and small business. The big kicker however is the Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast which is packed with so much great teaching, you’ll want to listen to the whole series in one go.

5. LKR Social Media

In 2011 founder of LKR Social Media, Laura Roeder was named one of the top 100 entrepreneurs under 30 and was invited to speak at the White House and it’s not surprising. The LKR blog is another great source of content and down-to-earth advice on how to leverage social media and online marketing.

6. Lucky Bitch

Founder of Lucky Bitch, Denise Duffield-Thomas shares both the highs and lows of the journey of how she built her multi-six figure business where she runs wildly popular mindset programs focused on helping women release their money blocks.  The blog is full of practical information that you can apply to your own business.


7. The Rise to the Top

On The Rise To The Top , you’ll find a podcast/video show which  is all about helping online entrepreneurs with a platform (like a show, blog, podcast, video blog or some combination thereof) leverage it and  make money. The sites founder David Siteman Garland has uncensored and uncut conversations, often with other top mediapreneurs who have risen to the top, and shares the latest training, quick videos, tips, advice,  interviews and more.

8. The Story of Telling

Voted Australia’s Best Business Blog in 2012, Bernadette Jiwa shares her brand strategy tips which have lead her to be named as one of the Top 100 Branding Experts to follow on Twitter and also present on TED. On this site you’ll find beautifully crafted short posts which help you stand out in a noisy and crowded market place, by showing you how to communicate your difference through your brand story.

9. Anne Samoilov

Everything you need to know about creating and launching your big idea. Anne really knows her stuff and breaks everything you need to know into simple actionable steps. If you’re thinking of launching and information product, bookmark this site now!

10. Marie Forleo

Featured on Oprah and and adored by her massive global following and a website that reaches over 190,000 readers in 191 countries worldwide, Marie Forleo provides a free video training series released each Tuesday which directly for aspiring or current woman online entrepreneurs.
