Here’s the business advice you SHOULD have got but most likely didn’t.
Here are 3 silly myths about success and business that every every early stage entrepreneur needs to knows.
1. You can make money in your sleep.
LOADS of people are chasing the holy grail of *passive income*. But the truth is that few people make it… at least not in the beginning.
Yes having leverage is good, but if you are in the early stages of your business it’s more likely that you are not going to generate passive income or have much leverage.
Better get used to the idea now that you WILL be trading hours for money.
But look this isn’t a bad thing because it can be very lucrative. That is, if you know what you’re doing 😉
2. Having an online business means having an online program
Fact, you don’t have to sell an online program to have an online business.
You can be selling high-end packages, retreats or events and loads of other things other than online programs AND run an online business.
The differentiating factor of an online business being that you make sales using the internet and savvy online marketing tools (Some of which can be automated which is very cool).
Have you ever thought about how big this is?
This is what I absolutely love about this online gig. You and I have at our fingertips the ability to stand shoulder to should with the “big” brands. I’m talking about the likes of Coke, Apple and Virgin. This is because we can reach our customers directly online and “talk” to them in a way which will make them care and THIS changes everything.
3. Having your own successful business means you can run it on your own.
Um, not the case. Going at entrepreneurship alone is a mistake many aspiring entrepreneurs make.
You will need to continuously invest in your business development because as your business evolves so to does the skills you need to up-level.
This is especially the case for early stage entrepreneurs.
If you’re like most people you started your business with big beautiful dreams of creating a profitable and purposeful business. However chances are you quickly realised that your ideal customers weren’t lining up to work with you and that the website that you lovingly spent months building, isn’t getting ANY traffic.
It’s when you’re at this point that you’re not sure what you need to do to turn things around to actually start making money and get that dream business you’re craving.
Here’s the big problem with this. It’s a catch 22. It can be difficult to invest in growing your business by working with a mentor when your business isn’t making money.
